Commissioned by the Somaliland Government and produced by Kura Production, this feature-length documentary tells the story of a nation that exists but is not recognized. A people who govern, build, vote, and dream in a land the world has yet to acknowledge.
What began as a production assignment became a nearly year-long journey into one of the most compelling geopolitical stories of our time. The result was a documentary of rare depth and scale and a milestone that exceeded every expectation.
In 2026, the film received formal recognition from Israel, accompanied by an official letter and a commissioning contract — marking a significant moment not only for Kura Production, but for Somaliland's place in global conversation.

Ethiopia is not just the backdrop of this story it is the heartbeat of it. And it was an honour for Kura Production, as an Ethiopian company rooted in Addis Ababa, to contribute to bringing that story home with the authenticity and cultural depth it deserves.
